Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers before you hire an investigator: what we are licensed to do in Indiana, what a case costs and how quoting works, what the $199 social media sweep covers, and what to do about stalking, missing persons, and deceased-person searches. Anything case-specific belongs on a free consultation: call (812) 364-1466.
How much does a private investigator cost?
It depends on the hours, travel, records, and deadline involved. Every case starts with a free consultation, and we give you a quote during that call once we understand what you need. We do not publish a general rate card, because a records search and a multi-day surveillance are different jobs.
What is the $199 social media investigation?
Our comprehensive social media sweep is a $199 one-time fee. It cross-references an email address and phone number across more than 200 social media and dating sites to look for hidden or secondary profiles associated with that person. It is a records and open-source check done from Indiana; it does not involve logging into anyone else's account, using a fake profile to befriend the subject, or accessing private messages.
Are you licensed, and where?
Our only private investigator license is Indiana license PI22500020. We are bonded and insured in Indiana. We do not hold a Kentucky or any other state private investigator license, and we will explain what another state requires before any fieldwork outside Indiana.
Where do you work? Is Southern Indiana your focus?
Yes. Fieldwork such as surveillance, in-person verification, and process serving happens in Indiana, with Southern Indiana first: Greenville, Floyds Knobs, New Albany, Jeffersonville, Clarksville, Corydon, and nearby communities. Online skip tracing, nationwide background checks, and records research are done from our Indiana office for clients anywhere in the United States. We do not keep a public storefront.
What should I do if I think I am being stalked or harassed?
If you are in immediate danger, call 911 first. Preserve messages, voicemails, photos, dates, and times, and do not confront the person. Then talk to us: our counter-surveillance work can help check for tracking devices, hidden cameras, and patterns of following or monitoring, and we can document what is happening in a form you can take to law enforcement or your attorney.
Can you find a missing person, or tell me if someone is deceased?
Often we can help, starting from last-known addresses and lawful records research. That includes locating missing persons and witnesses, and deceased-person searches that check whether someone has died and help identify the records that confirm it. We cannot promise a person will be found, open sealed records, or guarantee what a record will show. If a missing person may be in danger, call 911 before you call us.
How do I hire you, and what happens first?
Start with a free consultation by phone, email, or our confidential intake form. We listen, tell you whether we can help, and give you a quote during that call. Work begins only after you sign a retainer agreement that spells out the scope. We keep you informed as the case moves and close with a chronological written report, with timestamped photos and video where surveillance was involved.
Is what I tell you confidential?
Yes. Consultations and case details are handled in confidence. Submitting a form or having a consultation does not by itself create an investigator-client relationship; that begins when a retainer is signed.
What should I prepare before the first call?
Bring the names and identifiers you lawfully have, last-known addresses, relevant dates, and a short timeline of what happened and what changed. For a social media sweep, the email address and phone number to check. For stalking or harassment concerns, save the messages and note dates and times. Do not obtain information unlawfully to give to us.
Who do you work for?
Private individuals, attorneys and legal teams, insurance providers, and businesses. The scope is set around who will use the findings: a family decision, a court filing, a claim, or an internal business decision.
How long does an investigation take?
That depends on the type of work, the records involved, travel, and the deadline. We will discuss timing on the free consultation once we understand the scope, and we will tell you if your deadline is unrealistic rather than take the case on a promise we cannot keep.
What will you not do?
We use lawful methods only. We do not trespass, hack, wiretap, use unlawful trackers, impersonate law enforcement, or use pretexts to obtain records the law protects. Where the FCRA, GLBA, or DPPA applies, we work within it and will tell you when a requested record needs a permissible purpose or authorisation.
